GETTING STARTED

A few steps to start talking.

Haki Beta supports Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 or later. An internet connection and access to your account email are required. Intel Macs, iPhone, Windows and Android aren’t supported in this release.

  1. Download the installer from the Haki download page after completing verification. Download links expire after five minutes; request another if yours expires.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Haki Beta to Applications. Open Haki Beta from Applications. If macOS reports an unidentified developer, damaged app or failed verification, stop and contact Haki Support.
  3. Sign in with email and password. For a new account, enter the verification code from your email inside Haki. Previously used Google? Choose Forgot password / previously used Google and use that same email to set a password; your existing account and unused minutes stay with you. Eligible new accounts receive five dictation minutes, subject to available beta capacity. No payment card is needed.
  4. Allow Microphone and Accessibility in System Settings when prompted. Return to Haki; setup checks both permissions automatically. Choose whether to share data and optionally complete the spelling exercise.
  5. Click a text field. Hold Control + Option, speak, then release either key. Escape cancels; each recording is limited to two minutes. Review the result and use Copy if automatic paste is unavailable.

Updates

New downloads contain the latest published release. Open the Haki icon at the top of your Mac screen and choose Check for Updates if that option is available. Haki will tell you when an update is ready; you choose when to download, install and reopen it. Your history and settings stay saved. If your version has no Check for Updates option, choose Quit from that same menu, download the latest installer and replace Haki Beta in Applications once to get the updater.
